“I walked into the room. I’d never been on an audition before, so I didn’t know what to expect. Was it a movie? A TV show? A commercial? I didn’t know, honest to goodness. I just knew I had to because I needed to do something. Anything to get me to Hollywood. And this was it. Gary got me an audition. Gary, he’s my guy, my friend, he knows how the shit goes down. So this — this was my chance. And so there I was, in the room. The audition room. There was a lady sitting at a table, flanked by two guys, one with glasses, the other sipping a coffee, how do they drink that shit I’ll never know. And they’ve all got the script in front of them and some nerdy little kid hands a script to me. My palms are sweaty at this point and there was no air conditioning. No air conditioning inside this hot, humid little piece-of-shit cinderblock box in Manhattan. And these three people are just sitting there, looking at me. The whole time I’m thinking, ‘Gary, what the fuck did you get me into?’ And I start fumbling through the script. And the lady says, ‘No. No lines.’ And I said ‘What?’ And she said ‘No lines.’ And I was like ‘Okay then, what am I here for?’ And she was like ‘Do a zombie lemur.’ And I was like ‘A zombie lemur?’ And she was like ‘Yeah.’ And so I did this for like ten seconds.”
